This Lyrical and Contemporary class for teenagers is designed to help dancers deepen their emotional expression and technical skill while exploring the fusion of lyrical and contemporary movement styles. Combining the elegance and fluidity of lyrical dance with the raw, dynamic energy of contemporary, this class encourages teens to express their unique emotions and stories through movement. With a focus on building strength, flexibility, and fluidity, students will work on advanced techniques like contract-release, floor work, and improvisation, all while developing their ability to connect with the music on a deeper level. The class provides an opportunity for teens to express themselves authentically and to communicate complex emotions through their dancing.
Class objectives include mastering both lyrical and contemporary dance techniques, improving body alignment and musicality, and exploring dynamic movement sequences that push personal boundaries. Teens will also develop their stage presence, learning how to convey emotions through facial expressions and body language. In addition to working on set choreography, students will experiment with improvisation and creative movement, giving them the tools to interpret music and emotion in their own unique way. This class is perfect for teens who want to challenge themselves physically and artistically while gaining confidence and honing their performance skills in a supportive, collaborative environment.
